Can a non-resident buy a property in the US?

I'm from France, I don't live in the US or hold a green card or visa. I'd like to buy a house in America and I have the funds available. Can I do this?

Yes of course - in the U.S. this is allowed. In some countries, such as Mexico, it is not.

If your status here is not legal, then you could be removed and then you would not benefit from your property, but that is a different issue.
