I have several closets and too many clothes! In one of my closets, they are packed in there tight as sardines.
I came across these wonder hangers
at a drug store. I got so excited I was about to purchase all they had. Luckily I picked up just one box, to try it out.
The premise is that they allow clothes, five items at a time, to hang vertically, thereby taking up less space. Sounds and looks good, in theory.
Turns out they provide about zero additional space. Because five items of clothing spread out take more space horizontally, all that happens is that your clothes spread out more, and hang down deeper as well! No space benefit.
Worse, the flimsy plastic hooks that hold up the clothing on the closet rod stretch out and slip right off! especially if you have a few heavy items like suits or fine wool slacks hanging on there. Worthless junk!
I determined that the only solution (short of giving away a lot of my clothes ) are these ultra thin, frocked hangers with a velvety surface to keep clothes from slipping off. Now, when it comes to fine clothes, I am a fan of wooden hangers, but they seem to just take up too much space! Also, on these ultra thin hangers, you can also add shoulder shapers for the suits, and racks such as these for slacks and ties:
You can get all these at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
I'll keep you posted, lol!
