PayPal sent me a 1099

I opened my pay pal account 12 years ago I cant remember if I gave them my ss# I think it was only the last 4 digets Now I get a 1099k in the mail it only shows last 4 digets so does the Irs know its me do I have to claim it?

You did not give PayPal only the last four digits you gave them your entire social security number. For security reasons sometimes only the last four digits are shown on the PayPal account.

Don't pay it. For thos of you getting 1099K's from PayPal, write the IRS a certified letter and tell them you do not own the PayPal account and that someone stole your information. The IRS will never bother you again over it.
