The background on eBay Managed Payments is here
eBay Managed Payments - transition away from PayPal transition away from integrated credit card payments March 1, 2019 - Free EBAY, PayPal, Business and Law Forums - Ebay Suspension, PayPal Limited
Older eBay Accounts, such as ones that were approved for merchant account only status
Integrating your NON-PayPal credit card processor DIRECTLY into Ebay checkout - Free EBAY, PayPal, Business and Law Forums - Ebay Suspension, PayPal Limited
Getting approved for merchant account only (no PayPal) status at EBAY - Free EBAY, PayPal, Business and Law Forums - Ebay Suspension, PayPal Limited
were the priority for eBay's rollout of eBay Managed Payments. The priority for eBay was opting in eBay accounts that were previously set for "merchant account only" status, obviously - because this status was phased out May 1, 2019, so eBay wanted to keep these sellers rolling. eBay accounts that are selling via PayPal are lower priority for conversion to the new program.
This is the process to sign up for eBay managed payments:
SIGN IN to your Ebay account, then go to:
1) My eBay / My Account / Site Preferences
2) Under Selling Preferences / Payments from Buyers, you should see a section that explains that
" New sellers can no longer set up IMCC as a way to process payments on eBay. For current sellers using IMCC, after Mar 1, 2019, new listings can only be created using an alternate payment acceptance option. After May 1, 2019, eBay is fully discontinuing support for IMCC, and all existing listings will need to be updated with an alternate payment acceptance option. Visit the IMCC overview page to learn more."
Clicking the link takes you to
eBay Customer Service
and within that page near the bottom are two links:
Process payments with managed payments and Link your PayPal account (assuming that your PayPal is not already linked...which linking your PayPal is not recommended by the Short List):
One way to try to Opt In, is by phoning eBay at 866-540-3229
or, by Clicking to Learn More about eBay Managed Payments,
which takes you to:
Payments and earnings | Seller Center
where the benefits are explained, and near the bottom you will find a Ready to get started?
You’ve seen how much you could save.
with a Register Now, link. After clicking on that link, you'll come to a further page that will allow you to Get started:
You'll have to sign back in to your account, and go through the process.
KEEP IN MIND that this is just how to get to the page where you'll be able to sign up...the actual process of HOW to get approved, even for a stealth account, is in the Short List. You may get only ONE SHOT at eBay Managed Payments, so don't blow it!
