This new policy requirement goes into effect June 29, 2015
Product Identifiers | eBay Seller Center
What this means is that when listing new or manufacturer refurbished (not used) items in many categories, you will be required to identify your product by brand, manufacturer part number (MPN), and global trade item numbers (GTINs) - such as Universal Product Codes (UPCs) and International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs). Since at least one of these identifiers is auto listed when you search the Ebay catalog, as long as you are able to find your item for auction listing, and post it that way, you will be fine.
If you cannot find your item for sale in the Ebay catalog, then just add manually one of these product identifiers into your listing details.
Security Measure
This new policy just allows buyers to search and find your listings more easily.
