Accept American Express for your merchant account, anyone?

When I had a NOVA account with AMEX there was no additional monthly charge to accept AMEX. Or Discover for that matter.

Nowadays there is no additional charge to add AMEX acceptance to your merchant processing account, although the rates may be different from the Visa/MC/Discover rates.

That is correct it is called American Express and First Data Extend OnePoint Program for Merchant Sales and Servicing. Started I think in '07 & '08

American Express is a simple add on to your regular merchant account these days, albeit at pretty much universally higher rates than Master Card and Visa.
